Divorce

Getting divorced presents a couple with three main issues to resolve. If there are children, a schedule indicating when the children will be with each parent must be created. By agreement, any schedule is possible. All available income has to be distributed in a manner that is fair. Having the parties decide what is fair is the goal. Assets and debt must be divided. With assistance from a lawyer, each party can decide on a reasonable division of property.

Modifications of Parenting Plans or Child Support Orders

Sometimes parents see the need to change an order entered when they divorced. If a different schedule for the children makes sense, approaching that issue collaboratively can resolve it without unnecessary legal fees or damage to the co-parenting relationship. If the income of one or both parents has changed, cooperative exchange of necessary information and a re-calculation of child support can be done without court intervention.
